Native Sun Cannabis
Spring-Summer 2023
Native Sun Packaging
Although I did not develop the concept for the packaging (the initial concept artwork was created by Ducktails Packaging), I expanded upon the original artwork to build a suite of packaging for Native Sun flower, pre-rolls, and vapes.
My role in designing the packaging included: Creating the shape for the tamper label, properly sizing all designs to their necessary die-lines, reviewing and approving print samples, adding copy and assets to bring all products up to the standards of the Cannabis Control Commission of MA.

Native Sun requested designs for 5g glass jars and tamper seals, glass pre-roll tubes, 5- and 10-pack mini pre-roll boxes and tamper seals, CR bags for pre-roll boxes and tamper seals, ounce flower bags and tamper seals, vape flow-wrap bags, exit boxes, PR kit boxes, and an internal hardware vape card.
Native Sun has only started producing their own products as of September 2023. So far, only 5g jars, a cured resin vape cart, and 1g pre-rolls have hit the shelves. These in-store photos are from the brand-new South Boston retail storefront, and have been merchandised by me with display packaging. I also created the informational signage, which features insight into the growing process for Native Sun cultivation.
I also designed all of the marketing content for Native Sun’s flower launch, seen below.

Native Sun began selling their own flower beginning in September 2023. The brand focused on being a high-end, sophisticated, and transparent alternative to flower typically found in MA.

Friday the 13th Sticker Sheet
Sticker sheet designed to be a giveaway for Friday the 13th and Halloween. These were handed out with any purchase of a Native Sun product.
Hand-drawn in Procreate, edited in Photoshop and Illustrator, printed by StickerApp.
Native Sun Field Guide
Native Sun retail teammates requested a set of cards that would allow them to visually explain various terpenes to guests that are new to cannabis. Especially in the Hudson, MA location, there are a lot of older guests that benefitted from a clear explanation of effects.
I designed an informative booklet that can be handed out to guests in Native Sun’s retail spaces. The “field guide” style is meant to make the reader feel like they are researching the plant, complete with pages for observations.
Native Sun’s 420 Campaign
Like many dispensaries across the country, April 20th is one of the biggest sales days of the year at Native Sun. Unlike many other dispensaries, Native Sun’s marketing team hosts a variety of activities and entertainment along with the deals you can find on the menu.
I created the artwork and design behind the campaign, including the main logo, t-shirt, social content, email content, and Sizzle reels for inside the store.
We went with a “Miami graffiti” vibe for the logo, with Native Sun focusing on their classic slogan “It’s 420 Somewhere.”

Email content sent out to thousands of Native Sun subscribers.
These images only account for a portion of the content I created for Native Sun’s 4/20 campaign. Other designs included Instagram stories and feed posts, additional email content, and additional Sizzle reels for the in-store TVs.
