GARDEN REMEDIES

Pocket Pack

Winter 2023

Garden Remedies Cannabis requested for their one of their best-selling products, the Pocket Pack, to be redesigned. Instead of adhering to the standard brand guidelines, they requested that this product have a new, fresh look.

The bottom, floral designs align with Garden Remedies’ standard brand. The leftmost designs were inspired by sardine cans, but were eventually passed up for the sketches that led to the final design. I have been collecting cannabis packaging for many years, I was aiming for something that had yet to be seen in the cannabis industry.

The final design guidelines for the Pocket Pack tin featured a custom, hand-illustrated font and a two-tone color scheme. The two colors were based off of different shades of denim, which spoke to the name “Pocket Pack.”

The interior design of the tin is printed with an organic repeatable pattern that is meant to surprise and please the customer. It also was proposed to use the pattern for merchandise surrounding this new sub-brand.

Lotis Branding

These designs are an expansion upon existing branding for Garden Remedies’ sub-brand, Lotis Gummies. The illustration style uses existing color schemes, but develops Lotis into a brand focused on symmetry and calming natural elements. The flora and fauna in each piece speaks to the use of natural flavors in the gummies.

GR Product Catalog

This catalog was initially created for our wholesale partners as a way to show them our available stock. Eventually, this packet made its way into our retail locations for customers to browse while in line. It also became a resource at pop-up events and trade shows.

In order to show the full benefits of individual strains, I included the main terpenes as well as the THC concentration and effects. This information, when laid out in a clean and clear way, makes the booklet a helpful tool for customers and cannabis advisors alike.

Includes hand-drawn illustrated elements.

GR Enamel Pins

These enamel pins were designed to be order add-ons at Garden Remedies retail locations. They feature a soft enamel design with gold metal. The use of flowers to replace cannabis makes them compliant under CCC law, and is a subtle head nod to cannabis culture.

GR Wholesale Content

My main responsibilities at Garden Remedies included supporting the Wholesale team with content that could be distributed to our partners.

Holiday Packaging

One of the major difficulties of working in the cannabis industry is having to design around CCC regulations, which greatly limit what we can and can’t show on marketing materials. I was tasked with creating a fun and non-denominational holiday packaging. I could not depict the actual plant, but I developed a clever way around it.

If pinecones are green, they tend to look a bit like nugs! I ran with that idea and created this pattern to be used on bags and boxes. Although this project was cut for budgetary reasons, it is a great example of my ability work around tight guidelines.
